The Rev. Teresa L. Smallwood, JD, PhD, The James Franklin Kelly and Hope Eyster Kelly Associate Professor of Public Theology, will present this year's lecture in person in Benbow Hall, Brossman Center, Philadelphia campus of ULS - 7301 Germantown Ave., Philadelphia, PA 19119. Her lecture will also be livestreamed on the ULS YouTube channel.

Dr. Smallwood's lecture is entitled: “Fire Power: The Weapons of Our Warfare” and deals with active shooters in our society and houses of faith.

Dr. Teresa L. Smallwood earned a B.A from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, a Juris Doctor from North Carolina Central University School of Law, a Master of Divinity at Howard University School of Divinity, and a PhD at Chicago Theological Seminary. She is the immediate past Postdoctoral Fellow and Associate Director of the Public Theology and Racial Justice Collaborative at Vanderbilt Divinity School. She is a licensed and ordained minister both through Baptist and non-denominational communions. She is the James Franklin Kelly and Hope Eyster Kelly Associate Professor of Public Theology at United Lutheran Seminary in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. A member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and a community organizer, Dr. Smallwood lives by the mantra “only what you do for Christ will last.”
