ABOUT THE EVENT
This November event features Pastor Morgan Simmons who will be speaking on the topic of “Reproductive Justice through a Lutheran Lens." Reproductive rights are grounded in the conviction that people are moral agents called to exercise conscience responsibly before God. Lutheran theology takes seriously both the value of developing human life and the dignity, health, freedom, and complex circumstances of the pregnant person; it therefore resists reducing difficult reproductive decisions to simple rules or political slogans. Protecting access to reproductive health care, including contraception and abortion, recognizes that such deeply consequential decisions are best made by individuals in consultation with their families, medical professionals, pastors, and communities of faith—not imposed through coercion or inequitable laws. This approach reflects the Lutheran commitments to grace, neighbor-love, justice, and respect for the vocation of conscience.
