Bicentennial Homecoming and Luther Bowl

Don’t miss ULS Homecoming in our Bicentennial year. Join us for Luther Bowl 2026!

Friday, October 23 – Saturday, October 24 on the Gettysburg Campus

For over 60 years, Luther Bowl has brought together seminary communities from across the region for fellowship, worship, friendly competition, and community. This year, as we celebrate ULS’s Bicentennial, Luther Bowl will also serve as our Homecoming weekend—and you absolutely do not need to play, watch, or even be interested in football to participate!

There will be plenty happening away from the football field, including:

Bible Bingo: Come test your biblical knowledge and compete against your colleagues! I hear there will be some great prizes…

Greek Workshop: In this special refresher course led by Dr. Mark Vitalis Hoffman, you can brush up on your Greek, learn something new, and enjoy an opportunity for continuing education and conversation with colleagues.

Worship: Gather with participants from across traditions. There will be a distinguished guest preacher, and opportunities for student involvement in this special service.

Hymn Sing: Got a hymn you love to sing? Request an old favorite, discover someone else’s, and join your voice with friends and colleagues.

Community Meals and Fellowship: Some of the best connections happen around the table. Come share a meal and catch up with friends old and new.

And of course, there will also be the traditional inter-seminary flag football tournament! All skill levels are invited to join our team and help ULS bring home the trophy!

Come for a single event, or make a long weekend of it and attend the Luther Colloquy too! We hope you’ll join us for whatever parts of this homecoming for Luther Bowl fit your schedule and interests.

Friday:

• All day: Arrival and check-in; refreshments available in Valentine coffee shop

• 1pm-3pm: Greek Workshop

• 3:30-5pm: Bible Bingo

• 6:00pm: Dinner

• 7:30pm: Hymnsing

Saturday:

• 7:45-8:45am: Breakfast

• 9:00am: Corporate worship w/ communion

• 10:30-3:00pm: (approx.) Games

• 11:00-4pm Used book sale in library
