United Lutheran Seminary is pleased to announce the appointment of Mrs. Marlita Lee as Director of Admissions effective February 2, 2026. Marlita earned a Bachelor of Science in Busness Administration from Neumann University and an Associate of Arts degree in Paralegal Studies from Peirce College. Marlita joined Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia in 2014 and continued her service through its merger into United Lutheran Seminary. Since then, she has worked in the Admissions Office as the Coordinator of Admissions Services. Upon the retirement of Deacon Dr. Nancy Gable, Marlita was offered the position because of her wonderful personality, outstanding commitment to the institution, and her enduring love for the students we serve.

"I am excited about the new direction for Admissions under the leadership of such a capable leader,” said Dean Smallwood. “Marlita has demonstrated ingenuity, devotion, and endurance. I believe we will expand our reach with Marlita's plan for building the department with admissions counselors and recruiters. I could not be more thrilled.”

In addition to her distinguished professional career, Marlita is deeply committed to serving her community. She volunteers and supports her husband in operating the Mt. Airy Airmen, a non-profit AAU travel basketball organization he founded to serve youth ages 11 to 16 in the Mt. Airy community of Philadelphia. Since its establishment in 2014, the program has emphasized academic achievement and life-skills development while providing opportunities for young athletes to compete at a high level in organized sports.

Marlita also serves as the Financial Services Coordinator alongside her cousin, who serves as the Founder and President of Health educatED, a non-profit organization dedicated to addressing health disparities and promoting health literacy in the underserved populations in Delaware County and Greater Philadelphia, PA. Marlita's dedication to both her profession and her community reflects her passion for making a positive impact on the lives of others. She enjoys spending time and traveling with her family and friends, crocheting, and cheering on the two-time Super Bowl Champions, the Philadelphia Eagles. She is married and has two daughters, one son, and four grandchildren.
