DearULS Faculty, Staff, Students, Alumni and Friends,
The ULS Presidential Search Committee thanks you for the expressions of interest we have heard from you regarding the presidential search process, including: requests for updates on our most recent activities; nominations of possible candidates; and keeping us in your prayers. As you know, the presidential leadership profile outlines the many qualities we are seeking in our new leader. We were blessed to receive expressions of interest from a group of persons who embody those qualities.
This past week, our search committee met to review the pool of candidates. We had a very rich and robust discussion with full participation and insightful contributions from each member of the search committee. We are working now on the next steps in this process, and we will be engaging in initial interviews in the course of the month ahead. The COVID-19 national emergency is impacting all of us, including all of those who are considering the call to our presidency. We are committed to moving the search process forward and are working to making adjustments to bring our work to a successful conclusion in late spring or early summer. We are grateful for the leadership of Interim President Angela Zimmann, especially in these challenging days. We are also bolstered by her commitment to continue serving as our interim president until the search process is concluded.
Let us take this opportunity to share with you the honor and pleasure it is for us to share in this work with the dedicated members of the ULS Presidential Search Committee. We are learning and growing together in ways that we are confident will help us move the process forward, and lead us to discern who shall lead ULS in the years ahead in a manner that will be beneficial as the new leader’s call begins. We ask for your prayerful regard as we continue to do this critical work on behalf of the Board of Trustees and for the benefit of all who care about our mission of “equipping peopleto proclaim the living Gospel for a changing church and world.”
