Dear ULS Community:
As you are doubtless aware, over the holidays the COVID-19 infection rates skyrocketed again, largely due to the omicron variant of the virus—though the other forms are still active as well. We announced before Christmas that the January intensive courses would need to be virtual; and midweek worship during these weeks is also to be virtual (though the campus chapels may be used by those leading worship and music and running the technology).
Now, since the infection rates seem still to be rising, it makes sense to extend this “virtual only” practice for classes and meetings through the month of February. Our Tuesday and Wednesday worship services will be virtual, and Thursday Eucharists on both campuses will be suspended until the end of February. Staff and faculty have received additional information in a separate communication.
The safety and well being of the ULS community remains a top priority. We will announce any changes to this recommendation on at least a monthly basis.
Thank you for your patience with this changing situation, and your continued cooperation in our efforts to avoid the spread of the virus in our midst.
President R. Guy Erwin
