Overview

ULS seeks a Maintenance Technician who is energized by the opportunity to provide world-class service in the Facilities Department

The Maintenance Technician will become a member of a community of faculty, staff, students and constituents committed to its mission as an educational institution (Seminary) of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America (ELCA), guided by its Christian Faith.

Reports to:          Director of Facilities

Travel:                  10%

Major Responsibilities:

 Maintenance, Repair, & Groundskeeping

·       Assist with lawn cutting, snow removal, leaf collection, weeding and other
        landscaping duties.

·       Perform preventative and periodic maintenance checks on the electrical, plumbing,
        heating, air-conditioning and other mechanical systems.

·       Assist with lawn cutting, snow removal, leaf collection, weeding and other
        landscaping duties.

·       Repair and replace light bulbs and electrical switches and outlets as needed.
        Repair and change locks on doors, windowpanes, etc. as needed.

·       Repair buildings or equipment as necessary

·       On a rotating basis, arrange with other maintenance employees to provide
        emergency coverage for the campus (and your areas of responsibility in particular)
        incase of a maintenance emergency (broken pipe, heating  malfunction,
        electrical problem, natural disaster, etc.).

·       Perform other such duties as may be assigned.

Qualifications

·       High School Diploma or equivalent.

·       Minimum of 3 years of experience in maintenance or similar role.

·       Customer service oriented, with good communication skills, both written and oral.

·       Ability to function effectively within a diverse campus environment.

·       Commitment to and supportive of the mission of ULS and the ELCA

Preferred Skills:

·       Plumbing, HVAC, Landscaping, Carpentry.
