Mark W. Oldenburg

The Rev. Dr. Mark W. Oldenburg coordinates the worship life at the Gettysburg chapel. He has been teaching at the Seminary since 1986. His areas of responsibility include not only teaching in the areas of worship and chapel oversight, but also spirituality, preaching, and history, and chairing Music, Gettysburg!, a 20 event free concert series connected with the Seminary.

His primary academic interests are the church year, hymnology, and the history of American Lutheran worship. He has published articles in all of these areas, as well as hymns and sermons.

Prior to coming to Gettysburg, he served as parish pastor, hospital chaplain, and Evangelical Outreach Coordinator in New Jersey.
