Do you have a talented leader with a heart for faith formation (aka Christian Education/Youth Ministry) that could use more education?
Does your youth minister want to take faith formation to the next level?
Are you a rostered person looking to minister more completely with faith formation or how to empower others in this ministry?
Every day, more congregations are looking for leaders to develop & grow faith formation ministry. There is a shortage, however, of properly trained leaders available to these same congregations.
About the program
The CCFF is designed to give faith formation leaders theological, theoretical, and practical training in ministry for faith formation for young people and families; it is designed to equip you for building and leading faith formation programming in the congregation. For some congregations it is an opportunity to "grow their own" leaders, combining the gifts of caring adults who have a heart for faith formation. Anyone can benefit from this unique educational opportunity. The CCFF is also designed for pastors, professional children and youth staff, volunteers, part time leaders, and anyone passionate for faith formation of all ages.
The CCFF is held on the Gettysburg campus of United Lutheran Seminary where participants concentrate on theological and theoretical study, discussing ways they can grow their congregations faith formation, integrating families and communities into their programs. Topics include Biblical and theological training, cultural analysis, long range planning, family ministry, Christian Education, and lots of how-to strategies. Using proven models and techniques, but with an eye on the specific needs of your congregation, emphasis is placed on integrating faith formation into the whole life of your congregation. The 10-day (weekend schedule) CCFF also includes practical education emphasizing small groups, intergenerational development, and relational ministry. As a final project participants will develop a ministry plan for ministry in their setting.
